Administrator Home Page (User)

Overview

The NovaStar 5 Administrator default home screen is typically similar to below and displays an image-based map that displays even when the computer is disconnected from the internet.

Even without logging in, the Administrator displays map, tabular, graphical, and report views to see recent data values displayed, depending upon the system configuration that has been defined by the NovaStar 5 administrator.

The NovaStar Operator software provides interactive maps that can be zoomed and scrolled, using internet maps and stand-alone maps, and is being phased in for emergency managers that do not need access to database edit features.

The Administrator Home page typically includes a general map of the monitored area of interest, with each station identified by a green dot. Clicking on a dot allows access to a pop-up menu that displays information about the station and point associated with the data point.

The Administrator menu includes the following main menu items. Use the links to the relevant documentation sections.

These menus and features are described in the User section of this manual for all users. Once logged in as any user, the Home Page is displayed, with menus shown for the user role. The menu of commands at the upper left side of the screen expands upon login, allowing access to data view/edit features for the following. Use the links to the relevant documentation sections.

These menus and features are described in the Operator and Administrator section of this documentation and are available to users that are administrators and have full read/write access to the database configuration capabilities.

Non-administrator users have read-only access to database configurations, with limited exceptions (especially with regard to acknowledging active alarms), and should refer to the Operator and Administrator section of this manual as needed for information about these features.
